THE EVENING RACING @leicesterraces WEDNESDAY 22ND JULY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Gal (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong, involving the winner Gal (IRE), ridden by Rob Hornby, Arvana Belle (IRE), placed third, ridden by Lewis Edmunds.
Charles Bishop, the rider of Musical Soldier (IRE), placed second, was interviewed but found not to be involved in the incident.
The Stewards found the interference to be accidental as Hornby’s mount shifted slightly left-handed, causing Arvana Belle (IRE) to become short of room before continuing his run and stepping right-handed, making contact with the quarters of Gal (IRE), causing both runners to become unbalanced and Arvana Belle (IRE) to clip the heel of Musical Soldier (IRE).
Following the race, Lewis Edmunds reported that Arvana Belle (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong and that the filly clipped a heel.
