Permission was given for Berkshire Phantom (IRE) to go early to post.
Berkshire Phantom (IRE), trained by Fionn McSharry did not enter the Parade Ring.
McSharry’s explanation that she had intended to go early to post, but her rider had been delayed weighing out, having ridden in the previous race, was accepted.
Leaving the stalls Berkshire Phantom (IRE), placed fifth, jumped left-handed at the same time as Split Elevens (GB), placed third, jumped slightly right-handed which resulted in Triggered (IRE), placed fourth, being squeezed for room and losing its early pitch, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved, nor had it improved the placing of Split Elevens (GB).
Leaving the stalls, Kondratiev Wave (IRE), placed second, jumped left-handed at the same time as Mariner (IRE), unplaced, jumped right-handed, resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced after a hefty bump, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Kondratiev Wave (IRE).
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Berkshire Phantom (IRE), placed fifth, lugged quickly right-handed, lightly bumping Aljezur (IRE), unplaced, which was moved off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Berkshire Phantom (IRE).
Following the race, Warren Fentiman reported that Rogue Thunder (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
