THE HAVANA GREY STANDING AT WHITSBURY MANOR HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for Another Abbot (IRE) to go early to post.
Permission was given for both Addison Grey (GB) and Jel Pepper (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Another Abbot (IRE) wore ear plugs throughout the race.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching 1 furlong out involving Sudden Flight (GB), placed second, ridden by Finley Marsh; Addison Grey (GB), placed third, ridden by David Probert and Jel Pepper (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Lewis Edmunds.
The interference was found to be accidental as after a gap had materialised between Sudden Flight (GB) and Jel Pepper (IRE) approaching the cutaway, Probert committed Addison Grey (GB) for the run before Sudden Flight (GB) stepped slightly left-handed, causing Probert to become short of room which then resulted in him having to ride his mount forwards in order to avoid heels and to obtain clear running, giving a slight bump to Jel Pepper (IRE).
The winner Fleetwater (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Windsor on 15 June 2026 where the mare finished ninth of twelve runners, beaten 5 ½ lengths.
Stan Moore’s explanation that the previous run at Windsor may have come to soon with it being 8 days after running at Goodwood, was noted.
Fleetwater (GB) was routine tested.
Leaving the stalls, Jel Pepper (IRE), placed fourth, jumped awkwardly and shifted right-handed carrying Addison Grey (GB), placed third, on to the heels of Queue Dos (GB), placed fifth, causing the rider to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
