THE DUBAI DUTY FREE SHERGAR CUP SPRINT (CLASS 2 HANDICAP) Permission was given for May Angel (GB) to wear a red hood to post, and for Jel Pepper (IRE) to be mounted in the chute.

As the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the gelding should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe, Jel Pepper (IRE), ran without its left-hind shoe.

Being satisfied that this was due to the gelding spreading a plate, no further action was taken.
Following the race, Frida Valle Skar reported that Havana Hurricane (GB), placed eighth, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer examined the gelding post-race during routine testing and found Havana Hurricane (GB) to be lame on its right-hind.
The representative of Stuart Williams reported that Jel Pepper (IRE), placed ninth, became upset in the preliminaries.
