Permission was given for EMPEROR’S SON (IRE) and Holbache (GB) to go early to post and for EMPEROR’S SON (IRE), Fenlander (GB) (IRE), Holbache (GB), Ray Vonn (IRE), Rough Diamond (IRE), and The Organiser (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Approaching one furlong out, Count D'orsay (IRE), placed fourth, edged left-handed for a legitimate run at the same time as The Good Biscuit (GB), placed third, on the outside lugged right-handed, which resulted in Holbache (GB), unplaced, becoming momentarily short of room but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Count D'orsay (IRE) or The Good Biscuit (GB).
The winner, Wreck It Ryley (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Pontefract on 25 September 2025 where the gelding finished eight of fourteen runners, beaten by 4 lengths.
Alan Brown’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from the re-application of blinkers and a step down in grade from class 4 to class 5, was noted.
Wreck It Ryley (IRE) was routine tested.
