The winner, Pockley (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ayr on 18 September 2025, where the gelding finished thirteenth of eighteen runners, beaten 9 ½ lengths.
Linda Perratt’s explanation that Pockley (GB) was better suited by the strong pace of the race and appreciated the return to Newcastle where the gelding had run well previously, was noted.
Pockley (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Oisin Orr reported that Uncle Sam (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong; Paul Mulrennan reported that Wee Mary (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong and Cam Hardie reported that Desert Master (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
