Soldier strikes late to land gamble
Daler does the business for Lyons
He's named Daler after the Avondale football club that David (Spratt) is very strong on. He bought him to have fun with the lads, so it is nice. Not before time because he has always promised that, but I don't think he has ever looked as well as that. What he has been doing is dropping out of the stalls, he's bouncing but dropping out, and then closing. Gary just kept the revs up on him and didn't let that happen. We'll keep going like this until he tells us not and then we will drop him into a claimer or something.
Power hangs on to secure another Dundalk win
Anushka off the mark
Iron proves tough to give Foley quick double
Swango another well backed winner at Dundalk
Whatchadoin off the mark for Halley
We bought him at the breeze ups and he's a big, raw horse and I think he will be better next year. He's been very consistent this year and he has run in very good races. His last run, there was a pile of winners came out of that race. The Listed race I ran him too soon. It was always the plan, it just came up too soon for him. A big, raw horse like himself, just not enough recovery time for him. This race suited him down to the ground. He'll go on next year and he has plenty of potential in any jurisdiction. I really liked him all year, he's an excellent horse to train. He was bought for the family and it is great to get one. We'll see what comes knocking and go from there. I don't think he needs a break, but I think it would be great to develop him a little bit more. I'd just like to give him a little bit of time as well.
Heffernan double as Delahunty back in winners' enclosure
I haven't had too many runners now, in fairness!. My son Michael got him in a claiming hurdle in Clonmel during the summer. We bought him as a hurdler and we had him at home a few days and we said this isn't a hurdler, this is a Flat horse. He had a good run here and then on his last run he kind of got stopped, he didn't get a clear run and he's a lad you have to keep him going once you get him going. Seamie Heffernan, what can I say?. I'm farming at home and we have four (horses) in at the moment. We only took out the Flat licence since we got this horse. We are bitten by the bug now on the Flat! We'll keep him going.
