The Starter reported that Havagomecca (GB) was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn at 2:43pm.

Approaching the final furlong, Ecclesiastical (GB), placed third, hung slightly left-handed briefly inconveniencing Dark Side Prince (GB), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Ecclesiastical (GB).
The winner, Dickieburd (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at York, on 14 July 2023, where the gelding finished last of eighteen, beaten by 12½ lengths.
The representative of Craig Lidster’s explanation that the gelding had recently received a course of treatment for ulcers, was noted.
Dickieburd (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, David Allan reported that Albegone (GB), placed fifth, was restless in the stalls.
