Permission was given for Al Rufaa (FR) to go early, wearing a red hood to post; for Enrolled (IRE) to go early to post.
The Starter reported that Enrolled (IRE) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
James Fanshawe was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
Edward Greatrex, the rider of Man Of La Mancha (GB), drawn 6,was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in her horse being slow to start.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Greatrex’s explanation that the blindfold was stuck on the bridle on the first attempt, before being able to remove the blind on the second attempt, was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately a furlong out involving Oj Lifestyle (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Tom Queally and AL RUFFA (FR), placed second, ridden by Saffie Osborne.
Queally was suspended for 2 for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed when not sufficiently clear of AL RUFFA (FR), carrying the gelding several horse widths off its intended line.
An enquiry was held to consider interference ½ a furlong out involving Havana Mojito (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jack Callan and Robbo (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Ashley Lewis.
Being 7lb claimers, both riders were offered to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Callan was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed causing Lewis to take a slight check when tightened for room.
The performance of Enrolled (IRE), which finished last of twelve runners beaten by 32 ¼ lengths, was considered.
The explanation given by representative of James Fanshawe that the gelding was unsuited by the nature of the track which in their opinion was too sharp, was noted.
