THE LADIES DAY 9TH MAY "CONFINED" NOVICE STAKES (CLASS 3) (for horses which have run no more than twice) (DIV II) (GBB/GBBPLUS RACE) Permission was given for Plutarch (IRE), KNIGHTSTAIL (IRE) and Tornado Tower (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately three and a half furlongs out, involving Tornado Tower (GB), placed second, ridden by Tyler Heard, and Australia Day (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jason Watson.
The Stewards found that the interference was accidental, as both runners, when running green, shifted towards each other and bumped, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
Following the race, David Probert reported that Knightsail (IRE), unplaced, got its tongue over the bit and George Downing reported that Qarreeb (GB), placed third, hung right-handed on the bend.
