THE LADIES DAY SUNDAY 16TH AUGUST HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) Permission was given for Plutarch (IRE) to wear a red hood to post, and for Age Of Baroque (FR) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
The winner Avatar Jet (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 28 March 2026, where the gelding finished thirteenth of fifteen beaten 25 lengths.
Declan Carroll explained that the gelding may have stripped fitter from its previous run, which followed a 553 day absence, and possibly appreciated the drop in trip to 1 mile on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Avatar Jet (IRE) was routine tested.
One furlong out, Age Of Baroque (FR), placed fourth, hung right-handed causing Plutarch (IRE), unplaced, to become slightly short of room and the rider have to take a precautionary check.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Age Of Baroque (FR).
