Formscan By Mark Nunan - SALAMANCA BAY has run with credit in all three starts over hurdles and has a good opportunity to get off the mark in a less competitive event. He attracted the attention of the stewards when sixth to Uhtred at Naas on his penultimate outing and had a couple of useful horses behind when fifth in a strong maiden at Gowran last time. Whiskeywealth may have needed the run when well behind the selection at Naas and could get a lot closer here. He was clear when falling at the last at Limerick in March and that form makes him a major player. Rathgearan showed ability in bumpers and is entitled to improve after finishing fourth on hurdling debut at Tramore. Old Soul is another who may improve after not being beaten far in mid-division on his hurdles bow at Punchestown.
