The Raceday Stewards interviewed R.P. Whelan, rider of Mono River (FR), trained by John C. McConnell, concerning his failure to pull up his mount after reporting that his mount had moved poorly in a tailed off position through the early stages of the race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he felt his mount was moving poorly but able to continue at a slow pace. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found R.P. Whelan was in breach of Regulation 216 and in considering his clean record in this regard they suspended him for one raceday
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mono River (FR), trained by John C
McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on its right hind post race
