Formscan By Shane Redmond - NEPHIN MOUNTAIN (7) will be suited by the step back up in distance as he makes a quick reappearance after finishing a modest sixth on much softer ground at Bellewstown last Thursday. He won over a trip close to this at Ballinrobe in July and showed up well here on a couple of occasions since, winning over a mile in August before finishing third over this distance early last month. He has a favourable low draw and should be suited by the ground. Reponse Finale was very slowly away at Clonmel last time and did well in the circumstances to finish as close as she did. If breaking from the stalls on terms, she clearly as her chance as does top-weight Albatala who was a 12-length winner over this distance at Down Royal in June before taking the runner-up spot in a mares' handicap hurdle at Sligo the following month.

An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 0-60

Too impressive! The ground is important to her. Cillian (McConnell) rode her in the Student Derby (Curragh, 2023) and led everywhere bar the line that day and cost us a lot of money - I'm only forgiving him now!. She loved that ground and the last day was probably too quick for her. I think anything with 'good' in it is probably too quick for her. I told Gary she stays well and that's why he sent her on, but he didn't realise he had sent her on that much. I’m delighted for the owner who has been very, very patient with her and me, and got his reward today, so hopefully she can go on. She has obviously hurdle form as well, so she might mix it through the summer.

I’m delighted with that. We know the family well. She’s a bit hot. I half fancied her the last day and we had a hood on to try and settle her as she was keen the first day but she nearly settled too much, I think. We stuck the cheekpieces on today. She always showed a good bit working, but she used to get worked out. Paul O’Brien has done a lot of jumping with her recently and it seems to have settled her. We were scratching our heads after the last day so we just changed tactics all together and said we’d go forward here. I was a little worried about the ground. I thought she was a nice filly and did good work as a two-year-old. We actually fancied her first time out even though the family take time. We had the brother Liffeydale Dreamer, who was a decent horse. She’ll be a dual-purpose filly. She’s a real game filly and she finally showed today what we thought of her at home. The family is a little bit hot and she used to boil over a bit at home on the Curragh. We kind of stopped working her and starting schooling her since the last day. Robbie won on the brother as well, so it’s great. I’m delighted for Gary and Sean (Murphy, owners). They are good craic and they were very patient. Hopefully she’ll be a fun filly for them.
