The selection is a half-brother to two winners and having been well supported at Naas, wasn’t beaten far. The winner of that race was subsequently Listed-placed and that experience will help, as his principal rivals lack experience. Blazing Duke was a E36,000 purchase as a two-year-old and is well related while Grey Garden’s grandam was a half-sister to Arc winner Peintre Celebre. Le Diablo’s trainer won with a recent four-year-old bumper with Tim Toe while in-demand rider David Doyle rides Leopard d’Irlande, which has a good pedigree. Second reserve Springhill Warrior would be a notable runner.
