Formscan By Alan Magee - Paul Nicholls has three strong contenders here including last year’s winner LE PREZIEN who appears to have been given a decent chance at the weights to record a repeat win. The J P McManus-owned gelding was a well-backed favourite for this when finishing in mid-division in 2017 but made amends 12 months ago by stretching clear after the last on soft ground to beat the Kerry Lee-trained pair Gino Trail and Top Gamble. The selection is rated just 1lb higher this time. Stablemate Magic Saint beat the aforementioned Gino Trail in good style at Wincanton last month but has yet to run in a big field handicap. Nicky Henderson would obviously like to win a race named in honour of his father, and Whatswrongwithyou is on a hat-trick after wins at Ffos Las and Fontwell. However he tends to race keenly and has a lot more to do here off a 10lb higher mark.
