Formscan By Alan Magee - LEONCAVALLO gets the vote in a typically open renewal of the County Hurdle. The Cape Cross gelding only joined Richard Newland last year and after scoring in first time blinkers at Ludlow, ran a cracker when third to Sharjah on soft ground in the Galway Hurdle. The form of that competitive handicap could hardly have worked out much better with the winner now rated 19lb higher having won twice at Grade 1 level, while the likes of Bedrock and Le Richebourg were further behind. He comes here fresh with a competitive handicap mark intact. Eclair de Beaufeu has progressed nicely this term and was a promising fourth in a valuable handicap at Leopardstown last month. Willie Mullins has won four of the past nine renewals, and Whiskey Sour has obvious claims having finished third here 12 months ago and is now off just a 3lb higher rating. Mohaayed finished strongly to score last year but has a stiff task off a stone higher mark having also landed another big handicap at Ascot this term. Dan Skelton is a dab hand with these valuable two-mile handicaps, and is also represented by Ch’tibello who lined up in the Champion Hurdle last year.
