Formscan By Alan Magee - DERRINROSS gets the nod to provide the father and son team of Philip and Luke Dempsey with a memorable win. The lightly-raced eight-year-old relishes cut in the ground and made a winning reappearance after a 12 months break when beating Sams Profile in a Grade 3 event at Cork. The selection followed up again over three miles at the Limerick Christmas Festival in a Grade 2 novice that has been won in the past by the likes of subsequent Albert Bartlett winners Penhill and Martello Tower plus Faugheen. Commander Of Fleet announced himself as a smart sort when taking the Goffs Land Rover Bumper in style at Punchestown last year, and appreciated a step up in trip when beating Rhinestone in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown’s Dublin Racing Festival. That form was given a timely boost by Gallant John Joe at Naas last Sunday. Lisnagar Oscar is proven over the trip having finished strongly to take a Grade 2 at Haydock last month, while Birchdale and Allaho add further spice to a highly competitive event.
