Formscan By Tom Weekes - REAL STEEL has plenty on his plate under joint top-weight but might have the class to win. He has always been a smart performer and while he has yet to win at Graded level, he was in contention when falling in a Grade 1 hurdle in December 2017 and has comes here following some good efforts in defeat in Grade 1 chases. His latest effort saw him finish second in the Ryanair Gold Cup at Fairyhouse and being a 6yo, is open to some more progression and will appreciate the drop in class today. Other joint top-weight Hardline is a previous Grade 1 winner, at Limerick last Christmas, and is clearly very able at best. He disappointed at Cheltenham latest but will also appreciate the drop in class today and may well prove better at a return to a middle distance today. Poker Party is proven in this handicap grade and comes here in excellent form. He now competes from a 138 rating, 10lbs higher than when winning at Naas in February and while that will anchor him somewhat, he should still be in the shake-up today. Jetz was well held at Thurles in March (when left a remote second) and has a little to prove running from 147 today while Scoir Mear comes here in excellent form having won his latest start from 9lbs lower but might ideally prefer a longer stamina test. Beyond The Law won his beginners chase at Cork latest and has a nice low weight today while Pravalaguna has done very well over fences in recent times and should go well on handicap debut with trip and ground in her favour.
