Formscan  - COLUMNIST, who was third in the Coventry at last year's Royal meeting, is an obvious starting point given he was subsequently pitched into Newmarket's Group 2 Superlative Stakes before heading to Deauville for a crack at the Prix de Cabourg. Those high-class events proved to be just beyond him, but the son of Ardad has now been gelded and could have the quality to make a successful handicap debut. Fellow class-dropper Star Anthem is feared most, while Brave Mission and Power Fizz are shaping up nicely.
