Formscan By Alan Magee - DESERT FRIEND won this race 12 months ago and, despite advancing years, has strong claims of repeating the trick following a number of solid efforts this term. The selection beat all bar Molly Hall over course and distance last month and again ran a cracker at Navan last time. Preparations won over 1m4f at Bellewstown last year and successfully switched to hurdles on her reappearance at Limerick this spring. She finished well when runner-up at Gowran earlier this month with Out On Friday over seven lengths behind in fourth. Positive Energy rates a danger if staying this distance, while Spanish John has been raised 10lb for winning over a similar trip at Tipperary last month.
