Formscan By Alan Magee - All five career wins for SOUNDS OF THUNDER have come on a sound surface but the Ado McGuinness-trained mare can handle some cut as evidenced by her creditable second to Ancient Highway in a 17-runner handicap at Clonmel a couple of months ago. Jonathan Moore knows her well, and a reproduction of that Clonmel form should see her go close. Not a lot went right for Overtures at Downpatrick last time but the well-bred son of New Approach still put up his best effort to-date when staying on well up the hill to beat all bar Tellthemnuttin. Gordon Elliott’s charge, who is probably best suited by decent ground, should be winning soon if he can eliminate some jumping errors. Cork runner-up Sunchyme, Courageous Cry and Happy As Larry appear the pick of the remainder.
