Formscan By Tom Weekes - DESMOND CASTLE has been a work in progress for some time and can now make the breakthrough. He ducked sharply left and unseated rider coming out of stalls on his second start last September and while he has been finding his feet, was hampered at Limerick earlier this month before finishing his race eye-catchingly. Connections are likely to have targetted this and he remains unexposed over today’s distance. His trainer has a very strong hand with Bear Creek, under Dylan Browne McMonagle, having winning recent form although is 10lb higher than at Down Royal. Starford is 13lb higher than at Roscommon while Fortuna Vera recently finished second in the Apprentice Derby.
