Formscan By Shane Redmond - MANOIR DE MIRANDE (2) was possibly robbed of an overdue success when all but carried out by a loose horse at Roscommon last time and compensation surely awaits. He looked to have been travelling best of all when very badly hampered at the third-last hurdle, losing all momentum and quickly dropping back through the field. He had plenty of form going into that race and he can now be fancied to come home ahead of the likes of Whats New who ran well in a maiden hurdle at Bellewstown eight days ago and Pebble Island who showed up nicely in a novice hurdle on the same card.

He wasn’t winning out of turn. It wasn’t exactly a strong race, but he had been running consistently well in that grade. It’s just great to get it done for the owners (Joe Bolger) today. Obviously, he took a heavy fall only a week-and-a-half ago (in Killarney), but he’s always schooled well at home and I’d say that the run over jumps probably did help him. I’m delighted with that. We know the family well. She’s a bit hot. I half fancied her the last day and we had a hood on to try and settle her as she was keen the first day but she nearly settled too much, I think. We stuck the cheekpieces on today. She always showed a good bit working, but she used to get worked out. Paul O’Brien has done a lot of jumping with her recently and it seems to have settled her. We were scratching our heads after the last day so we just changed tactics all together and said we’d go forward here. I was a little worried about the ground. I thought she was a nice filly and did good work as a two-year-old. We actually fancied her first time out even though the family take time. We had the brother Liffeydale Dreamer, who was a decent horse. She’ll be a dual-purpose filly. She’s a real game filly and she finally showed today what we thought of her at home. The family is a little bit hot and she used to boil over a bit at home on the Curragh. We kind of stopped working her and starting schooling her since the last day. Robbie won on the brother as well, so it’s great. I’m delighted for Gary and Sean (Murphy, owners). They are good craic and they were very patient.
