Formscan By Mark Nunan - Any easing of ground conditions will suit THE TRUANT who has been performing well of late on a soft surface. He beat a couple of in-form rivals at Sligo and ran well to be fourth in the face of a track bias which favoured the all-the-way winner at Galway. He steps up in trip from 1m4f but is likely to stay. Lord Erskine beat a subsequent improver at Roscommon in May and his recent run over 1m will have sharpened him up nicely for this. Extensio has enjoyed a good season with a win at the Curragh and two fine runner-up efforts. He gets this trip well. Blackpoint has run well in two lady rider contests at Tipperary and now has Colin Keane’s assistance. Roscommon third Our Scholar won on handicap bow over this trip at Navan and has scope for further improvement.
