A smart bumper winner on debut at Killarney in May 2018, he subsequently showed a consistently useful level of ability over hurdles and while he failed to win in six hurdles starts, he did bump into a few very capable individuals and today's race looks a very suitable opportunity. Gun Merchant has himself shown ability in his three point-to-points and two bumper runs, culminating with a Punchestown bumper win in June. He will be fine on hurdles debut today but could lack the ability to beat the selection. Marine One is a useful flat performer who has run well on his three hurdle starts. He comes here with race-fitness a big help and while he has good recent form in similar maiden hurdles, he too might struggle to beat RAYA TIME. Josie Abbing won her Newton Abbot bumper in July and has since ran well enough over hurdles and has place claims.
