Formscan By Tom Weekes - Ruby Walsh might be able to return on a winner with LAREENA here. This is her third year attempting an elusive hurdles win and while she races just once in 2017, has returned in good form this year and ran quite well when second at Fairyhouse last month. That form was significantly boosted by the winner winning a handicap subsequently and today LAREENA again receives weight from previous winners, which could sway things in her favour. Awayinthewest is herself a second season novice but also has solid form to her name. She finished sixth in last season's mares' novice hurdle at Cheltenham and while she returned to hurdles in good health at Galway in October, hasn't run since then. That lack of a recent outing is a concern and she must also give a winners' penalty to the selection. Savannah Storm was presumably bought as a 'replacement' for Fayonagh, when bought for 75,000gns by that mare's owner a week after her loss last October, and he should be able to win plenty races over jumps. He was once rated 102 on the flat and was also placed at Listed level for Ger Lyons. His lack of hurdle experience won't help today but he does have ample ability to beat these rivals in time and would be eligible for a summer novice campaign were he to win today.
