Formscan By Vincent Finegan - An extremely competitive renewal with no standout horse. Willie Mullins is the go to trainer looking for the winner with three victories in the last six runnings and leading contenders every year. This time he runs two, Klassical Dream and Aramon. Klassical Dream was pencilled in for the longer distance Ballymore Hurdle later in the week but presumably due to the soft ground he runs here. Ruby Walsh chose him in preference to Aramon when the pair clashed at Leopardstown last time out and the Champion jockey sticks with his choice again here. That is certainly enough to convince that Klassical Dream will confirm the form with Aramon but that might not be quite enough to win. Nicky Henderson is very keen on ANGELS BREATH and has made no secret of the fact that he thinks this horse could be something special. You can take his recent defeat with a pinch of salt as he was not fully race fit having been given an easy week following a flu vaccination and a bold showing is expected. Al Dancer, in similar ownership to ANGELS BREATH, has been prominent in the betting for quite some time having progressed through the handicapping ranks but may just lack the touch of class required to win a Supreme Novices Hurdle. Grand Sancy, Mister Fisher and the four-year-old Fakir D’oudairies all have strong form claims but an outsider with a squeak could be Felix Desjy. He is something of a tricky customer but has definite ability which was evident when he showed up well for a long way in last season’s Champion Bumper at the Festival. A change of tactics worked last time at Punchestown and Felix Desjy could out perform his odds.
