Formscan By Donal Murphy - When I saw SEMPO finish fourth on debut at Listowel in September, I marked him down as a definite future winner. He came from well off the pace at the Co Kerry venue, and had a far from clear passage when third on his second start at Leopardstown. He finished ahead of subsequent winners Allaho and Fury Road there, with the former since impressing in a Grade 3 over flights at Clonmel. The selection himself got off the mark in convincing fashion at Thurles last month, accounting for fifteen rivals with the minimum of fuss. That was a well-deserved victory for the son of Oscar, and he appears to be a horse who is improving with every run. It is difficult to find faults with Envoi Allen who is a perfect four from four. The Cheveley Park Stud owned gelding has been a leading contender for this race for quite some time now, and it'll come no surprise if he manages to maintain his unbeaten record here. Willie Mullins relies on Blue Sari, who bolted up on debut at Gowran on Thyestes day, and has since been purchased by JP McManus. However four-year-olds don't have a great record in this race, and so he might find one or two a bit too good. Joseph O'Brien trains the selection and he also has another strong contender in the shape of Meticulous, whose dam Refinement was second in this race in 2004. Ask For Glory, Master Debonair and Get In The Queue look the strongest of the home team.
