The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Elizabeth Gale, rider of Sporting Hero (GB), presented to weigh out 2lbs overweight, which had not been previously declared. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that she did not believe that she would need to avail of the available 2lbs overweight and therefore did not declare it. Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, stated that he was happy to allow the overweight to be carried. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed Elizabeth Gale to ride Sporting Hero (GB) on this occasion, however they were satisfied that she was in breach of Rule 198(vii)(a) and having considered her clean record in this regard they fined Elizabeth Gale €150. Furthermore the Raceday Stewards reminded Elizabeth Gale to familiarise herself with the rules and procedures in future

Denis Gerard Hogan stated that his charge benefited from a low draw today, which may have brought about the apparent improvement in form
