Permission was given for Fort Augustus (GB) to wear a red hood to post, for Pont Neuf (IRE) to be mounted on the course and to go to post early wearing a red hood and for Walnut (GB) to go to post early wearing a red hood and ear plugs which were removed at the start.
Leaving the stalls, Desdemona (GB), unplaced, jumped left-handed and in doing so bumped Fort Augustus (GB), unplaced, resulting in that runner and Silver Wraith (GB), placed second, being taken off their intended lines, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Fort Augustus (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.
