THE RACING TV FILLIES' HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) Permission was given for Adalida (GB) to be mounted on the course and for Shallow (GB), Angel Shared (GB) and Bright Summer (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Bright Summer (IRE), trained by Andrew Balding, appeared to show evidence of possible administration of a substance, with dried blood and a swelling present in the region of the left jugular vein.
The representative of Andrew Balding, the trainer’s racing manager and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed.
The trainer’s Veterinary Surgeon supplied written submission of medical treatment including the medication and time it was administered the day before, 20 August 2026.
The stable representative confirmed that Bright Summer (IRE), had received only normal food and water by mouth on the day of racing.
The Stewards being satisfied, allowed the filly to run and ordered Bright Summer (IRE), to be routine tested post-race.
