The Raceday Stewards interviewed D.W. O'Connor, rider of Ipanema Queen, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip Regulation and stated that his mount was hanging right. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D.W. O'Connor was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays
G.F. Carroll, rider of Erosandpsyche, trained by Daniel James Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was carried off his line in the last furlong
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final two furlongs involving Erosandpsyche, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed second, and Ipanema Queen, ridden by D.W. O'Connor, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. G.F. Carroll stated his mount was carried across the track from two down. He added that in the last 100 yards his mount was intimidated which he felt cost him the race. D.W. O'Connor stated that he tried to straighten his mount as best he could and he never made contact with Erosandpsche. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action
D.W. O'Connor, rider of Ipanema Queen, trained by Robson De Aguiar, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right from two furlongs down.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards that at entry have run three or more times under any Rules of Racing, at least one of those runs having been on or after 1st June, 2025 (100 = 10st) Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
