THE TOM JONES LIVE AT CHESTER CONDITIONAL JOCKEYS' HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 5) An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend involving, Innisfree Lass (IRE), which was later pulled up, ridden by Harry Atkins; The Kings Soldier (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Oscar Palmer and Golden Glance (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Charlie Maggs.
Being a 7lb claimer, Palmer was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Atkins as suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he moved left-handed when insufficiently clear of The Kings Soldier (IRE), moving the gelding onto the rail which resulted in the rider of Golden Glance (GB) taking a check against the rails.
An enquiry was held to consider why one of the marker poles fell onto the track as the runners were starting.
The Clerk of the Course was interviewed.
Having heard her evidence, a report was forward to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
