Leaving the stalls, the winner, Gaurdman (IRE), jumped left-handed, impeding Snaafy (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately three and half furlongs out, Master Of Entropy (GB), unplaced, shifted quickly left-handed whilst racing greenly, causing Snaafy (GB), unplaced, to be steadied when short of room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the final furlong, involving the winner, Gaurdman (IRE), ridden by Silvestre De Sousa, and Aerial Silk (GB), placed third, ridden by Daniel Tudhope, which was beaten by a head and a head margin.
Having heard evidence from both riders and viewed recordings of the incident, it was established that approaching the final furlong Aerial Silk (GB) was hanging left-handed independently, before ultimately Tudhope elected to steady and switch his mount around the heels of Gaurdman (IRE), when that runner lugged left-handed despite the efforts of De Sousa to correct his mount, which left Aerial Silk (GB) briefly short of racing room.
The Stewards were unable to be satisfied that Aerial Silk (GB) would have finished in front of Gaurdman (IRE), but for this interference and ordered the placings to remain.
The interference was found to be accidental.
Following the race, Silvestre De Sousa reported that the winner, Gaurdman (IRE), hung left-handed.
Hollie Doyle reported that Snaafy (GB), unplaced, suffered interference leaving the stalls.
