The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Terence O'Brien, trainer of Voice Of Northeast, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Veterinary Officer in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(i)
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Jasmine Affanalis, ridden by L.T. McAteer, placed fifth, and Shahada Ace (GB), ridden by A.J. Slattery, placed fourth, where it appeared L.T
McAteer had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. L.T. McAteer stated that he was in the gap and got tightened up down the rail. A.J. Slattery stated that he felt the movement from Galaxy Wonder may have caused his mount to drift further towards the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found A.J. Slattery was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for four racedays
L.T. McAteer, rider of Jasmine Affanalis, trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered a furlong down.
