THE SUMMER FUN & MAKERS MARKET RACEDAY 27TH JULY MARES' OPEN MAIDEN NATIONAL HUNT FLAT RACE (CLASS 5) (Category 3 Elimination) (DIV II) (GBB RACE) An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference 2 furlongs out, involving Agreymiracleseeker (FR), ridden by Tom Bellamy, which interfered with Crystalate (IRE), which dead-heated for second with Agreymiracleseeker (FR), ridden by Sean Bowen, and Golden Bouquet (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Nico de Boinville.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved the placing of Agreymiracleseeker (FR) as Crystalate (IRE) lost sufficient ground and momentum as a result of the interference to overcome the dead-heat recorded by the judge at the finish.
The Stewards therefore revised the placings as follows: First Getmyfriend (IRE), Second Crystalate (IRE), Third Agreymiracleseeker (FR), Fourth Golden Bouquet (GB).
Bellamy was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as despite his mount having already shown a tendency to hang left, he continued to use his whip in his right hand, shifting further left, causing Crystalate (IRE) to become short of room and the rider have to take a check and switch, resulting in Golden Bouquet (GB) being moved off its intended line.
Two furlongs out, Cool Million (IRE), unplaced, shifted sharply left-handed bumping and unbalancing Crystalate (IRE), which dead-heated for second, at the same time as Agreymiracleseeker (FR), which dead-heated for second, drifted left-handed causing Cool Million (IRE) to become short of room for several strides.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Shortly thereafter, Golden Bouquet (GB), placed fourth, stepped right-handed moving Crystalate (IRE), which dead-heated for second, off its intended line, which in turn gave a bump to Cool Million (IRE), unplaced.
