An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final half furlong involving, Romance In Rome (IRE), unplaced, ridden by John Egan and Too Darn Seanie (GB), unplaced, ridden by Adam Farragher.
Egan was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to hang right-handed without correction, causing Farragher to take a precautionary check.
The Clerk of the Scales objected to Anzac Day (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Oisin Murphy and trained by Andrew Balding, on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 10st 7 lb, having weighed out at 10st 9lb.
The rider, the trainer and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
As the Stewards were unable to establish an explanation for the weigh difference, Murphy was suspended for 1 day and Balding was fined £250.
Anzac Day (IRE) was disqualified and the placings revised as follows: First – Ernst Blofeld (IRE); Second – Ammes (IRE); Third – Sword Of Wessex (IRE); Fourth – Criminal (GB).
Following the race, Finley Marsh reported that Criminal (GB), placed fourth, shied away from something turning into the home straight.
