He never seemed to raise a gallop in Limerick the other day. Bit of both (better ground and tactics), I'd say. Kieren said he hit the one well-watered patch in Limerick and he just came back underneath him and stopped jumping. We were scratching our heads, brought him home and rode him out yesterday myself, and he was bucking and squealing. Threw him out in the field this morning and he galloped around the place. We are a mile down the road, so we had to come and take our chance. Kieren said what was I thinking and I said pop him out. If something goes (on), they go, but make up his mind. We know he jumps well, so let him see his hurdles and attack them. It worked out well. It is our back garden, so it is great. It is my first winner here as a trainer, I had plenty of luck here as a rider. No plans really. I had Limerick in mind for a while, waiting for it. Thought we had him fairly right to run well and he was very disappointing. This was an extra race put on and I put him in. We'll see what the handicapper does. Conor David Maxwell, trainer
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Conor David Maxwell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Dunany Point, placed first, as compared with its last run in Limerick two days ago on April 10th 2025
Conor David Maxwell stated that his charge was disappointing when held up on his previous run and that a switch to forceful tactics today seemed to have contributed to the improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
