An enquiry was held to consider interference on the approach to the second last hurdle involving the winner, El Bandido Pancho (GB), ridden by Rex Dingle and Broomfield Gale (IRE), which ran out, ridden by Mr Robbie David.
The interference was found to be accidental as El Bandido Pancho (GB), had stepped quickly left-handed away from Military Tycoon (IRE), after turning into the home straight, which moved Broomfield Gale (IRE) slightly off its intended line.
As a consequence of this, the gelding appeared to continue to veer left-handed away from El Bandido Pancho (GB) despite the rider attempting to correct the gelding, subsequently running out at the second last hurdle, having appeared to make the decision to do so several strides before the lead in to the obstacle.
Following the race, Lewis Stones reported that Colonel Whizz (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had sustained an overreach wound to its right-fore heel.
Harry Cobden reported that Mach Ten (IRE), which was pulled up, hung right-handed throughout.
