An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the final half furlong, involving Gressington (IRE), placed second, ridden by Jason Hart, and Forest Caper (GB), placed third, ridden by Kevin Stott.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved CRESSINGTON (IRE)’s placing as it occurred half a furlong out when CRESSINGTON (IRE), which was coming from behind, nudged the quarters of Forest Caper (GB) resulting in little loss of momentum to that horse which appeared to have come to the end of its run and was held at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as CRESSINGTON (IRE) shifted left-handed, before being quickly corrected, giving a nudge to Forest Caper (GB).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Sea Legend (FR), unplaced, had bled from the nose.
