Permission was given for Special Ghaiyyath (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately two furlongs out, involving Borgi (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Robert Havlin, and Bowood (GB), unplaced, ridden by Elle-May Croot.
The interference was found to be accidental as Havlin had committed to a legitimate gap, at the same time as Golden Pharaoh (IRE), placed second, had shifted right-handed, taking Havlin off his intended line, which consequently lead to Croot becoming short of room.
The performance of Special Ghaiyyath (IRE), which started favourite and finished last of ten runners, beaten 16½ lengths, was considered.
James Tate could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
Special Ghaiyyath (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Elle-May Croot reported that Bowood (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run approximately two furlongs out.
