Approaching and passing the final furlong, Skukuza (GB), placed third, switched right-handed into a tight but legitimate gap between both Gladius (IRE), placed fourth, and Checkandchallenge (GB), placed sixth, at the same time as Gladius (IRE) shifted slightly right-handed resulting in Skukuza (GB) being taken further off its intended line and Checkandchallenge (GB) becoming short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Skukuza (GB).
The performance of Bullet Point (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
