THE bet365 NOVICES' CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 2) (GBB RACE) Permission was given for Legal Weapon (GER) and Love You Back (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Rounding the top bend in a tightly packed field, Dutch Corner (IRE), placed sixth, had to be steadied off heels resulting in Love You Back (IRE), which was subsequently pulled up, being shifted slightly left-handed causing the rider of Kapitein Kool (IRE), unplaced, to take a slight check.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Dutch Corner (IRE).
Following the race, Gina Andrews reported that Desertmore News (IRE), unplaced, made a bad mistake at the second last flight.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Legal Weapon (GER), unplaced, had lost it's right fore shoe; that Love You Back (IRE), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose and had wound on both front legs; and that a post-race examination of Last Round (IFR), which was pulled up, revealed the gelding to be lame on it's right-fore leg.
