The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr R. Sugrue, rider of Dorans Law, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and the IHRB Veterinary Officer. Mr R
Sugrue accepted he was in breach of the whip regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr R. Sugrue was in breach of R.10.3(f)(force) and R.10.3(g)(frequency). Having considered his clean record for both breaches, they suspended him for six racedays

An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards (120 = 12st 4lbs) Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won. Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Top weight after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st 4lbs and the minimum weight is 10st 7lbs.
