An enquiry was held into the start of this race and the participation of Letsbefrank (IRE), drawn 6, ridden by Paul Mulrennan and Tafsir (USA), drawn 9, ridden by Amie Waugh.
The rider and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
The Stewards considered that the gelding and the mare should be deemed to be runners as Letsbefrank (IRE) froze in the stalls, resulting in him being slow away and losing many lengths whilst Tafsir (USA), reared in the stalls as the gate opened, causing its rider to have to make two attempts to remove the blindfold, also causing it to be slow away and to lose many lengths.
Jack Nicholls, the rider of Tokyo Bay (IRE), was unseated after the finishing line.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved, and it caused by the saddle slipping.
