THE ROY WINSTANLEY MEMORIAL RAISING ENCEPHALITIS AWARENESS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Starsong (IRE) to go early wearing a red hood to the start.
Rounding the bend into the home straight the rider of Rain Cap (GB), unplaced, edged right-handed for a run at the same time as Battenburg Belle (IRE), placed third, hung left-handed resulting in Rain Cap (GB) receiving a bump and becoming briefly unbalanced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Battenburg Belle (IRE).
Approximately a furlong out Starsong (IRE), placed second, hung left-handed at the same time as Miss Magic Dragon (GB), unplaced, shifted right-handed causing Coiled (IRE), unplaced, to be tight for room and checked.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Starsong (IRE).
The winner, Go Victor (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 3 July 2026 where the gelding finished last of nine runners beaten by 13¾ lengths.
The explanation given by Stella Barclay that the yard appears to be coming into form, was noted.
Go Victor (IRE) was routine tested.
