The Starter reported that the Start of this race had to be started manually.
His explanation that this was due to a malfunction which was rectified prior to the start of race 5, was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference approaching the five-furlong marker involving, the winner, Roman Dragon (GB), ridden by Jason Watson; Celandine (GB), placed second, ridden by Kieran Shoemark; Ain't Nobody (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Tom Eaves; Divine Libra (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Rob Hornby and Kassaya (GB), placed fifth, ridden by P J McDonald.
Faleh Bughenaim, the rider of The Strikin Viking (IRE), placed third, was also interviewed but was found not to be involved.
In the first incident, the interference was found to be accidental as having got to the front, Watson slowed the pace, causing the rider of Celandine (GB) to ease, resulting in the free running Ain't Nobody (IRE) being caught on heels and the rider having to take a check.
In the second incident, the interference was found to be accidental as in a tightly packed field, Divine Libra (IRE) lugged quickly left- handed resulting in Kassaya (GB) becoming crowded for room and the rider having to take a check.
The winner, Roman Dragon (GB), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Ascot on 26 July 2025, where the gelding finished eleventh of fourteen beaten 8 ½ lengths.
Hugo Palmer’s explanation that the gelding had appreciated having an uncontested lead, was noted.
Roman Dragon (GB) was routine tested.
