The winner Hi Lord (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Pontefract, on 21 April 2026 where the gelding finished fifth of eight runners, beaten 8 ½ lengths.
Gary Harrison’s explanation that the gelding had appreciated the removal of headgear on this occasion, was noted.
Hi Lord (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Lewis Chalkley reported that King Of The Jungle (IRE), unplaced, hung right- handed and Joanna Mason reported that Sir Benedict (IRE), placed fourth, was denied a clear run approaching the line.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Opal Storm (GB), unplaced, had bled from the nose.
