He deserved it after the last day. He got a great ride the last day but just jinked when he hit the front and it probably cost him,. The winner came out and won again since. I thought the three-year-olds had a bit of an advantage with the weight concession. It’s great to win a race with him. He likes being up there on a good pace and he likes good ground. We had owned him ourselves and the lads bought him off me at Christmas. They had a couple of good horses with me. They had An Saighdiur and Sunset Nova, who has retired. There were light on stock but they are back again now. This horse could go for the mile three-year-old handicap in Galway.

Last to first win for Elusive Duke under Whelan
The last day was the plan in Limerick!. Wayne Lordan was right. He was second first time out in Cork over six as a two-year-old and he always said that he needs to go further. Even the last day he said to step him up again. Wayne rides him most of the time but unfortunately he couldn’t today as he’s in Royal Ascot and Ronan did a marvellous job. He needed every bit of the trip, he’s very tough. When he was second the first time I didn’t think it would take seven runs to win. He likes good ground. Tom (Westropp Bennett) is here with his family and he had a winner at Kilbeggan the other night (Gaelic Arc) with John Ryan. It’s good that they are here.
Ronan Whelan doubles up as Noble Andy lands Jerry Fish
He’s a four-year-old and we didn’t think it would take him this long to win but that probably is his level,. Ronan gave him a great ride and the horses at home are in great form. We’ve brilliant lads at home helping me out every day and they are getting a few results too. We’re delighted. If he could win another one it would be great.
